About the speciality services – Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Dr Niraj started with a simple premise: Make available to every woman the health resources she needs to live a healthy, active, and long life. At the same time, educate each woman about the importance of preventative health measures. This same idea still drives him today, some 20 years later. The track record he has accumulated over the years speaks to his commitment to patients, their families, and the community at large. In this ever expanding scientific age, he and his team strive to update themselves in acquiring and providing best and most latest services to their patients. All of their facilities are clean and modern, with the latest technology at disposal.

This procedure involves introducing a small telescope inside the abdomen (tummy) to carry out a range of procedures including fairly straight-forward diagnostic procedure which is commonly done in women with infertility to identify and possibly treat any obvious underlying cause for inability to conceive. Polycystic ovarian drilling and excision of superficial endometriosis are the amongst the most frequently performed procedures in women with infertility.

Advanced procedures that are carried out include:

Most women are able to go home the same day. However, few may have to stay overnight, mainly for observation and pain relief.

Hysteroscopy involves checking the cavity of the uterus (womb) with the help of a telescope attached to a screen. This procedure helps in identifying any abnormalities in the uterus and is one of the most commonly performed procedure in those with infertility. The most commonly seen problems are small swelling in the form of polyp, fibroids, adhesions and septa. It also helps in opening tubes in women with blocked tubes. Like laparoscopy, this also can also be performed on a day care basis enabling women to go home the same day.

There are several situations where women are at risk of having complications during pregnancy by virtue of factors such as women’s age, past history and pre-existing medical problems. Amongst most common problems in pregnancy are diabetes, hypertension and thyroid problems. Women with these and other medical problems are seen in a multidisciplinary setting along with physicians.

Specialised investigation and treatment is offered to those with repeated abortions.

Women who had one or more caesarean section in the past are encouraged to try for normal delivery and are given every possible care necessary to identify any problem at the earliest so that appropriate intervention is carried out.

Dr Niraj has several published several papers in International scientific journals and made presentations in the field of Intrapartum fetal monitoring (care of unborn baby during the process of labour).
